Dutch original. Cornerstone is the ninth studio album by the American rock band Styx, released in 1979. It became Styx's third consecutive multi-platinum album. It was the band's first album to be nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Performance by a duo or group. Cornerstone is best known for including the band's only No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 single, the powerful ballad "Babe". The album also includes the folk-rock song "Boat on the River", which was a hit in Europe, although it did not chart in the United States. Cornerstone became Styx's first album in the US top 5, taking the 2nd place on the Billboard Albums chart.
