European reissue. Magica is the eighth studio album by Dio, released in 2000 on Spitfire Records. The release took the 13th place in the American charts of Top Independent Albums and sold well in Europe. The album is conceptual. It was originally planned that the album would be the first part of a trilogy of concept albums. Shortly before the start of his tour with Heaven and Hell, Dio announced his intention to begin work on the Magica II and III albums after the end of the tour, but he died shortly after from stomach cancer on May 16, 2010. The only song released by Magica II and III were titled "Electra"
