American original. Art Ensemble of Chicago is one of the key free jazz ensembles of the 70s and 80s, the main project of the Association in support of creative musicians. The band was formed in 1968 in Chicago by saxophonists Joseph Jarman, Roscoe Mitchell, trumpeter Lester Bowie, and bassist Malachi Favors. Then they were joined by Famoudou Don Moye. Full Force is the second album by the Art Ensemble of Chicago, released in 1980 on the ECM label .
