A rare German original. Arabesque-Arabesque (Marigot Bay) is the band's third album. Arabesque is a West German female pop group that worked in the disco genre with elements of high energy. The music for almost all of the band's songs was written by Jean Frankfurter. The main vocalist of the group Sandra after the breakup of the group continued a successful solo career (in the 1990s, she also took part in the project Enigma). The composition of the Arabesque group was unstable and changed several times in the beginning of its existence. Arabesque were very popular in Japan after they were noticed by representatives of the Japanese record company "Jhinko Music"at the MIDEM Fair in Cannes in 1978. In Europe, including their native Germany, until the release of the single " Marigot Bay "in 1980, the band could not boast of" frenzied " success. After that, they gained some fame, but did not rise to the "Japanese" level: of the nine albums released in Japan, only four were released in Germany. Marigot Bay is the band's 1980 studio album. The song of the same name entered the top ten in its country. It peaked at number 8 for 22 weeks in West Germany and at number 17 for 4 weeks in Austria .
