Welcome to My Nightmare is the eighth Studio album Alice Cooper, released by Atlantic Records in March 1975. This is the first solo album, Cooper. Welcome to My Nightmare was conceived and executed as a concept album. The disc climbed to 5th place in the U.S., until the 19th in the UK, in both countries, becoming platinum. The singles from it came "Only Women Bleed" (under the heading "Women Only", # 12 US), "Department of Youth" (# 67 US) and "Welcome to My Nightmare" (# 45 US). Cover plate (by Drew Struzan) subsequently joined the list of "Best album covers of all time" of Rolling Stone magazine.
