Bill Haley And His Comets were an American rock and roll band formed in 1952 and active until Haley's death on February 9, 1981. The band was also known as Bill Haley and the Comets and Bill Haley's Comets. More than 100 musicians performed with Bill Haley between 1952 and Haley's death in 1981. Rock Around The Clock is a compilation album by the band. "Rock Around the Clock", also "(We're Gonna) Rock Around the Clock " is a song written in 1952 by American musicians Maxamus C. Freedman and James Edward Myers. The song gained massive success in a 1955 recording by Bill Haley And His Comets. The single with the song became one of the best-selling in the history of music.
