Formed in 1965 in Parma, Ohio, USA, by teenagers Mike Pierce (bass and vocals), Bruce Boehm (guitar) and Bill Schwark (shock). Alarm Clocks got a lot of use out of one 45th single, even though it would have been 40 years before they actually took advantage of it. The trio recorded two raw garage punk tracks, " Yeah!" and "No Reason to Complain" live in the Studio in 1966 and released it on their own label, Awake, and a month or so later recorded a live demo of their live set at Sound Ideas Recording Studios. Nothing much came of either venture, and the group disbanded in 1967. However, the single took on a life of its own, gradually seeping through an informal network of garage band collectors and becoming very popular. Both sides of 45 appeared on the 1996 compilation Back from the Grave by Crypt Records, and the band members were eventually tracked down. Parts A and B of the single, as well as a full demo recording and three tracks from early recordings, made up the album Yeah!, which was released by Norton Records in 2000.
