Jan Akkerman is a Dutch guitarist. He first gained international commercial success with the band Focus. In collaboration with former Brainbox singer Kaz Lux and longtime colleague, drummer Pierre van der Linden and Akkerman other musicians formed the project Jan Akkerman & Kaz Lux. In 1976 on the Atlantic label released the album, "Eli".It appeared under the title "Jan Akkerman & Kaz Lux." Eli is a concept album with progressive rock, which blended elements of jazz, pop and funk. He won the Edison award in Niderlandov 1976 for best album.
