English original. Suzanne Vega is the first studio album by American folk singer Suzanne Vega, released in May 1985. It received positive reviews from music critics in the United States and reached platinum status in the UK, staying for three years (1985-1987) in the English chart. The worldwide circulation of the album reached 2 million copies. In 1989, Rolling Stone magazine included the album Suzanne Vega at number 80 in its list of "The Best Albums of the 80s" ("100 Best Albums of the Eighties"). The CD is also included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Listen to Before You Die (1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die).
