The American original. On the Road to Freedom is an album by English rock musician Alvin Lee and American singer Mylon LeFevre. Released in November 1973, it was the first solo project by Lee, who achieved international success thanks to his leadership in the blues-rock band Ten Years After. The album was recorded at Lee's home studio in south Oxfordshire. Chrysalis Records released the album On the Road to Freedom on November 2, 1973 in the UK under the catalog number CHR 1054. The album was released in the US by Columbia Records on December 7. The first single from the album was Lee's song "Fallen Angel". "So Sad (No Love of His Own)" was released as a single on December 17 in the US and on April 19, 1974 in the UK. The album received positive reviews from music critics
