The American original. Eruption (until 1973 — Silent Eruption) was a musical group created in 1974 and performed songs in the styles of disco, soul and electro. She is known for performing cover versions of the songs I Can't Stand The Rain (1977) and One Way Ticket (1978). At first, the participants performed as part of a musical accompaniment group at Boney M. live concerts, but soon released their own material. After that, Hansa Records began mass-releasing their albums and singles. Their cover of "I Can't Stand the Rain", released in December 1977, became an international hit, reaching No. 1 in Belgium and Australia, No. 5 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 18 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Eruption is a studio album by the band, with lead singer Precious Wilson, released in 1978.
