American original. Release is David Knopfler's first solo album after leaving Dire Straits. It was released in 1983 on the Peach River and Passport labels, and in 1997 on the Paris label. David Knopfler is a British singer and songwriter. Together with his older brother Mark Knopfler, John Illsley and Pick Withers, he founded the rock band Dire Straits in 1977, serving as rhythm guitarist on their first two albums. After leaving the band, Knopfler began a solo recording career.
