American original. Idea is the fifth studio album by Bee Gees. Released in September 1968, the album has sold over a million copies worldwide. The cover of the Polydor release, designed by Wolfgang Heilemann, featured a neon light bulb in the form of a "beehive" with a group photo at the base, and the North American ATCO release, designed by Klaus Voormann, featured composite heads made from each member of the group. It was their third album released internationally — the first two albums were released only in the Australian market. The North American ATCO LP and the South African Polydor LP replaced "Such a Shame" with "I've Gotta Get a Message to You".
