Kevin Ayers (16 August 1944 - 18 February 2013) was an English singer-songwriter who was a major influential force in the English psychedelic movement. Ayers was one of the founding members of the psychedelic group Soft Machine. He recorded a series of albums as a solo artist. The Confessions of Dr. Dream and Other Stories is the fifth Studio album. Ayers moved to Island Records for this release which employed a huge number of session musicians.
