Arabesque - West German female pop group, worked in the genre of disco with elements of hi-NRG. Music almost all the songs of the group written by Jean Frankfurter. The main vocalist of Sandra after the group disbanded, he continued a successful solo career (in the 1990-ies was also involved in the Enigma project). The group Arabesque was volatile and in the beginning of existence was changed several times. Arabesque was popular in Japan once in 1978 at MIDEM fair in Cannes, they drew the attention of the Japanese record company "Jhinko Music". In Europe, including his native Germany, before the release of the single "Marigot Bay" in 1980, the group could not boast of a "mad" success. After that, they gained some fame, but to "Japanese" level and have not risen: of the nine albums released in Japan, in Germany, there was only four. The original trio consisted of Michaela Rose, Karen Ann Tepperis , later continuing his career in the group "Shakira", Mary Ann Nagel. This lineup recorded only one single, "Hello, Mr. Monkey" (1978), and Mary Ann was replaced by Jasmin Elizabeth Vetter, who previously played sports and was part of the women's German national team in gymnastics. In this composition the band recorded their first album "Friday night", and then Karen replaces Heike Rimbeau.
