Geordie is a rock band from Newcastle (UK), most active in the 1970s. In March 1973 Geordie released their debut album Hope You Like It on the EMI label . An attempt to compete with such British glam rock bands as Slade and Sweet, they entered the top ten in the UK with the song "All Because of You" (April 1973) and received an award in the UK. The top 20 hits came with "Can You Do It" (July 1973).
