German prog-folk band. Aigues Vives was founded in 1971 in Germany. The name took on the name of the French town, which is a variation of the Latin ‘aqua vivae’ ("living water" or "an inexhaustible source"). The group was initially inspired by the English progressive rock. After a series of changes in 1974, they switched to folk. At that time the repertoire was French and Irish folk songs. In the late 1980 and early 1981 they recorded their debut and only album, Water Of Seasons.
