European reissue. Kill to Get Crimson is the fifth solo studio album by British artist Mark Knopfler, released in 2007. The album debuted at number 26 in the US (according to Billboard magazine's top 200) with sales of 23,000 copies in its first week. Mark Freuder Knopfler is a British singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer. He became known as the lead guitarist, singer and songwriter of the rock band Dire Straits. He embarked on a solo career after the band first broke up in 1988. Dire Straits reunited in 1990, but broke up again in 1995. He is now an independent solo artist.
